Ikoma Wildcamp
Ikoma Wildcamp is located just outside of the Serengeti National Park in the Grumeti Game Reserve and Ikoma Game Controlled Area. This is an area of unspoilt bush country where game drives and walking safaris are possible at day and night. The camp is also the best base for game drives in the Seronera.

Our comfortable permanent camp lies between two kopjes - bizarrely shaped rocky inselbergs protruding from the underlying plains. All tents and bandas have a stunning view over the surrounding savannah which is full of wildlife during the whole year. Between August and October you can even observe the world-famous East-African migration of wildebeest with over 2 million animals moving between the Massai Mara and the Serengeti - right from your tent or banda!

The camp is composed of 7 bandas (round traditional houses) and 10 comfortable tents with capacity to accomodate 2 guest each, and a large dining tent.

Properties:

* Tent size approx. 4 m (width) x 8 m (length) x 3.5 m (height)

* Each tent and boma has self-contained shower and toilet; 2 king-size beds, reading table, garden chairs, verandah, mosquito nets

* Solar power for lighting, water heater for hot shower, radio communication

* Full board package (breakfast, hot lunch at the camp or lunch box, and dinner). We also arrange hot bush lunches.

Activities in the area:

* Day and night game walk with local guides

* Day and night game drives

* The nearby Grumeti River provides an attractive target for a medium length circular walk. Along the way, points of interest include old defences used by the local tribes against Maasai incursions.
